University profile According to its own tradition and humanist principles set out by eighteenth-century encyclopaedist Denis Diderot, the university's ambition is to enlighten 21st-century society by opening up new fields of study, renewing traditional disciplines, developing and enhancing the achievements and results of research, and connecting with the community at large. It has acquired an international reputation for the excellence of its standards of research in all the fields in which it is active, namely science, medicine, dentistry, art and humanities and social sciences.
It was created by decree in 2019, resulting from the merger of Paris Descartes (Paris V) and Paris Diderot (Paris VII) universities, established following the division of Université de Paris. It was originally established as Université de Paris, but was renamed to Université Paris Cité in 2022.
Undergraduate programs open to exchange students

・Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences
Students have access to courses taught in the Grands Moulins Campus in the 13th arrondissement (EILA and LCAO) but also in the Campus des Saint-Pères, in the 6th arrondissement (SHS : Social Sciences, Education and Language Science). All students nominated in EILA or LCAO can pick up classes from other schools located in the same Grands Moulins Campus, which means they have access to:
- School of English and American Studies (EA), School of Linguistics (LING), School of Geography, History, Economics and Societal Studies (GHES), School of Languages and Civilizations of East Asia (LCAO), School of French Literature, Arts and Film Studies (LAC), School of Intercultural Studies and Applied Languages (EILA), Humanities, Sciences and Societies Institute (IHSS)

Most programmes are in French. There are limited number of English classes available at EILA (Intercultural Studies and Applied Languages) and EA (English and American Studies).

Undergraduate programs NOT open to exchange students

- Courses in Film studies are restricted to students in Film studies at their home institution. Workshops cannot be attended.

- Courses from the Psychology Department are restricted to students enrolled in Psychology studies at their home institution. Workshops cannot be attended.

- Medical studies are available only for students coming on a Medical agreement.
- Intercultural Studies and Applied Languages: courses in the second year of Master's degree and in the third year of Bachelor apprenticeship degrees (L3 Pro) are not available to exchange students.
- All workshops concerning methodology and writing a research dissertation (Mémoire) are not available to exchange students.

Université Paris Cité only has a few rooms in several residences in Paris (also called CROUS). As a consequence, we cannot guarantee housing for all students. We advise them to look on their own as well.

▪パリ大学を選んだ理由は、パリ大学群の中でも比較的新しく、自由でリベラルな雰囲気の中で勉強できると思ったため。また、さまざまな専攻が存在し多数の留学生が在籍しているので、多種多様な学生・教授陣との出会いが期待できたことも魅力だった。実際に留学してみてもその期待を裏切られることはなかった。
