University profile | With about 24,000 students from Austria and abroad, WU is the EU's largest educational institution for business and economics, business law, and social sciences. Each year around 1,000 students from over 210 different partner universities in more than 40 countries worldwide spend an exchange term and/or attend a short program at the WU in Vienna. The WU provides a large variety of courses in English and German. The well-developed International Office (IO) at the WU is the central contact point for incoming exchange students and offers a wide range of administrative assistance and preparation. WU offers intensive German language courses prior to the beginning of a semester, as well as an extensive orientation program with a wide variety of cultural events and activities. Students can also discover the rich cultures of music, art and architecture and enjoy the Viennese hospitality while they pursue their education. |

For exchange students at WU, housing is arranged (if wanted) by the Housing Service of the OeAD (Austrian Agency for Innernational Cooperation in Education and Research). Students can apply for accommodation in student residence halls. Students interested in renting these rooms need to apply by May 15 (for Winter Semester) or November 15 (for Summer Semester) and pay a deposit.
