University profile Approx. 19,500 students are currently enrolled at the University and 2,500 are international students from all over the world. The overall goal of the University of Siegen is to contribute to a humane future and to take responsibility for people and society. This is reflected in the guiding principle of the University of Siegen: creating a common future.The University of Siegen has gained in attractiveness in the past few years - as the significant increase in student numbers proves. From architecture to business engineering, the university offers high-quality programs. The institutional basis of research at the University of Siegen is formed by its four profiling schools as well as numerous scientific institutions. Four major, interdisciplinary research areas have developed: Excellent cultural and media research, sensor technology and nanosciences, SME research, and Inclusion on cultural education, inclusion by means of funding education, and inclusion as a (social) spatial strategy. In 2017 the school of Life Sciences was founded which now provides the environment for future-oriented study programs for medical and medicine-related topics.Currently, however, the school of Life Sciences does not accept exchange students.

Dormitory information
The student services organization in Siegen (Studierendenwerk Siegen) provides rooms in student residences on and off campus. Costs for rent and utilities amount to EUR 200 to 300.
Amounts are estimates per month and may vary by year or type of accommodation.
Other information Students from our international partner institutions have regular student status with all privileges of a full- time degree student. Students are enrolled as full-time non-degree student in a study programme equivalent to their studies at home, yet they are free to choose courses offered by other schools as well.
German language programs are available: Intensive courses (20 hours per week) for all levels are offered in September, regular language courses take place during the semester
