University profile Rice University is a private university located in Houston, Texas. Established in 1912, Rice is a top research institution and is dedicated to the "advancement of letters, science, and art." With an undergraduate population of about 3,900 students and a small student-to-faculty ratio, students are able to have more personal interactions with professors. In 2018, the U.S. News & World Report ranked Rice 14th(tie) among national universities. Rice University is well known for its applied science program, and a strong emphasis is placed on arts and sciences. Additionally, it is adjacent to the Texas Medical Center, the largest medical center in the world, and the campus encompasses nearly 300 acres. Houston is a growing city and is ranked the fourth most populous city in the United States. Houston is also considered a global city, with very diverse residents from various ethnic and religious backgrounds.

▪学部生が少なく教員と学生の比が小さく、密な授業が行われることが最大の利点かと思う。
▪テキサスに位置しており、優秀な学生が揃っていて、各種手厚いサポートも受けることができ（ライティングの添削センター、24時間体制の図書館等）、自然も豊かで、文句なしの充実した環境が整っている大学。留学生が非常に少ないことも魅力の一つで、ネイティブに囲まれながら生活することができる。
