University profile Founded in 1902, Nanjing University boasts three campuses: Gulou, Pukou, and Xianlin. Listed among the first group of "Project 985" universities, Nanjing University is a key comprehensive university under the direct supervision of the Ministry of Education. There are currently 23 schools and 65 departments with 82 undergraduate programs, 222 graduate programs, 170 Ph.D programs, and 23 primary disciplinary categories that offer doctoral programs in subordinate disciplines. The total student body is 27,600, among whom 2,200 are international students.

Exchange students are enrolled as " 普通進修生" (putong jinxiusheng) in Institute for International Students (IIS). Exchange students may take courses in other departments.

▪南京というだけで、ここへの留学を躊躇している学生もいるかと思う。来てみたらわかるが、日本人だから何されるとか、そういったことは全くない。むしろ日本へ関心を持った方が非常に多く、親切に接してくれる。
