University profile | KTH Royal Institute of Technology, is the largest, oldest (since 1827) and highest ranked technical university in Sweden and has a reputation as distinguished by a tradition of pioneering research, engineering genius and cutting edge science. KTH accounts for one-third of Sweden's technical research and engineering education capacity at university level, which reaches from natural sciences to all branches of engineering as well as industrial engineering and management, urban planning, work science and environmental engineering. There are a total of over 12,600 full-year equivalent undergraduate students, around 2,000 PhD students and approximately 3,700 full-time employees. KTH is a popular university for international students with over 1,500 exchange students and around 700 master students annually. KTH has extensive international research and educational exchange programs with universities and colleges, in Europe, Australia, Asia, China, Latin America and the U.S.A. |
Undergraduate programs open to exchange students | Exchange students have to take 50 % of their credits/semester within one specific school of the Science and Engineering programmes, provided that they meet the prerequisites specified for each course.

Dormitory information | KTH Accommodation tries to help exchange students to find an accommodation during their studies at KTH. Other information | The Language Unit at KTH offers Swedish language courses free of charge for exchange students. There is an intensive course starting early in August. During the academic year the Swedish language courses run parallel to the study programmes. Language courses in English may also be available.
