University profile University College Dublin (UCD) is Ireland's largest and most richly diversified university. UCD traces its origins to the Catholic University of Ireland founded in 1854 by Cardinal John Henry Newman, author of the celebrated 'The Idea of a University'. Today UCD is a vibrant, modern university of over 22,000 students situated on a spacious and leafy campus some 5km to the south of Dublin city centre. There are some restrictions regarding which modules you can take and, depending on the agreement with your home university, you may not be able to take courses in some areas. The Colleges of Arts & Celtic Studies and Human Sciences, English literature and Psychology are only open to students majoring in those areas and there are limitations to the number of modules students can take in this area.

▪ダブリンの規模は大きすぎず、小さすぎず、人々はとても親切で温かい。
▪アイルランドは他の英語圏に比べると馴染みの薄い国だが、ダブリン中心部からバスで少し先に行くと海や山、田園風景を見ることができ、観光するにも良い場所。パブでは伝統音楽が演奏され、活気に溢れている。
