University profile | Cardiff is a city with a population of around 300,000 inhabitants. It is located in South Wales. Wales is a principality, which, along with England, Scotland and Northern Ireland make up the United Kingdom. Cardiff University has just over 27,000 students and about 6,000 staff, so the academic community is the size of a small town. Cardiff is a cosmopolitan city, with many opportunities to visit both the coast and the mountains. It has several excellent shopping areas, theatres, cinemas, the National Museum of Wales, and the Wales Millennium Centre - a centre for opera, music and theatre. Exchange students can take modules at Cardiff Business School (business, economics etc) and the School of Modern Languages (MLANG). |

The host department is the School of Modern Languages or the Cardiff Business School. The Exchange students can take modules in modern languages (including Japanese and European Studies, excluding Politics) and business (including Economics) and modules of other departments opened to exchange students.
It is recommended that thoes who wishing to study at the Cardiff Business School have studied Business/ Economics/ Commerce at home university. *There are some restriction on module selections . The students need to take two third modules from their host department.
