[Keio Summer Program 2023] Overview

*The Keio Summer Program 2024 will NOT be held.
Keio University welcomes students from around the world to its quarter-long Summer Program for academic and cultural learning opportunities.
  • A two-month program (late May - late July, 2023)
  • Offers opportunities to take Keio's credit-bearing courses during its second academic quarter
  • Suitable for undergraduate students

Eligibility

Applicants must be currently enrolled* as full-time students in an undergraduate (bachelor's level) program at a university outside of Japan and must not be currently studying in Japan. Participants must be fluent in English. No Japanese proficiency is required as all lectures are conducted in English. (*at the time of application)

Applicants must have completed at least one (1) full-year of studies at their home institutions prior to participating in the Program.

Academic Credits and Transcripts

Students will be graded and will be issued transcripts. Academic credits earned from the summer courses may be transferred back to the home university, subject to the rules and regulations of the home university.

English Requirements

TOEFL/PBT: 550, TOEFL/iBT: 79, IELTS: 6.0 or above

Minimum GPA Requirement

2.5 on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent)

Please note that most of the courses will be held in-person this year.

● Our spring semester runs from April to July, and the following International Center Courses offered during the latter half of spring semester (from late May to July) are open to summer program students.

● As those courses are not just for summer program students, but also for our local Keio students and exchange students, some courses have limits on the number of students. Places for those capped courses are allocated either by a lottery, or by the lecturer.

(Note: Courses listed on the document above may include full-semester spring courses starting from early April which summer program students cannot take.)

*Students are required to take a minimum of 4 courses. (*up to 8 courses maximum)
*2 sessions per week are scheduled for each course.
