Keio University offers accommodation for its international faculty and scholars such as visiting research fellows to help contribute to the internationalization of its education and research.
Applications and requests for housing can be made through your faculty liaison at Keio University.
Eligibility
Individuals appointed as visiting scholars or faculty members by Keio University are eligible. (Please ask your faculty liaison whether or not you are eligible to apply.)

2. Tokyo International Exchange Center (TIEC)
Tokyo International Exchange Center (TIEC) provides quality residential and exchange spaces for outstanding graduate students and researchers from Japan and abroad.

Eligibility
Outstanding foreign researchers affiliated with Keio University, who have a residence status of "Professor," "Researcher," "Cultural Activities," "Highly Skilled Professional (i)(a)," or "Highly Skilled Professional (ii)(foreign researchers who are engaged in the activity of (a))", are able to commute to their campus from TIEC, and meet the following conditions:
1. Must hold a doctoral degree and have obtained the degree within the last 8 years.
2. Must not be a full-time staff member hired for an indefinite term at research institutions or similar organizations in Japan.
※Applicants who are expected to meet the above conditions at the start of their tenancy and can be certified and recommended by Keio University may also apply. (Move-in is permitted up to 30 days prior to the start of enrollment.)
※The minimum period of residence is 30 days.
※Those who are on leave of absence or who will be on leave of absence after moving in are not eligible to apply.
How to apply
- Applications must be submitted through Keio University.
- Prospective residents must first confirm the Internal Guidelines, contact the Keio Housing Coordinator via email ( keio_dormitory@info.keio.ac.jp), and then submit their application.
