Japanese Government (MONBUKAGAKUSHO:MEXT) Scholarship
Japanese government scholarship supports foreign students who study in higher education institutions, selected on the recommendation of Japanese Embassy/Consulate General, University, or Authority.
At Keio University, the following two categories of scholarships are available under the Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship program.
Recommended by a Japanese embassy or consulate general (Embassy Recommendation)
Recommended by Keio University (University Recommendation)
MEXT announced in September 2026 that the University Recommendation Scholarship (General Category) will not be offered from the 2027 academic year onward.
