Lecture by Professor Sarah Harper CBE, Clore Professor of Gerontology and Director of the Oxford Institute of Population Ageing. In this lecture she will talk as a demographer about the interaction of people and ecosystems, why Biodiversity matters, and what humankind can and must do to protect the natural world.

16 October: In Dialogue with the Chancellor

On 16 October, the Chancellor of the University, Lord Patten of Barnes will talk at an event we are organising in collaboration with the United Nations University in Aoyama. In this conversation-style event Lord Patten will talk about Japan and Britain in a changing Asia, and also about the University of Oxford and our role in the global higher education system. 10月25日レクチャー：歌舞伎、合羽摺、着物―日本美術を紹介するアシュモリアン美術館
In this Inside Oxford lecture, Dr Clare Pollard, Curator of Japanese Art will talk about the Ashmolean's wide-ranging Japanese art collections, and show highlights of recent and future exhibitions and Japan-related activities. The Ashmolean is the oldest public museum in the UK and has had Japanese materials in its collections since the earliest stages of its history.
