Keio Japanese Courses (KJC) are designed for international students enrolled at Keio University to learn the Japanese language and Japanese culture. Please read the information below carefully and follow the guidelines to register for courses.

For students above K7 level or equivalent to JLPT N2
KIP students who wish to take "Japanese Studies on Society and Culture (日本文化科目)" offered by JLP should refer to page in the box file below for registration instructions.
2025 年度 秋学期 聴講生履修案内
Self-Assessment Test
All students who wish to register for KJC, except for those learning Japanese for the first time, MUST take the online self-assessment test below by September 23, 2025.
Students who started their exchange program in the previous semester (2025 Spring) will also need to take the test and submit the result again.
Begin Self-Assessment Test
・Please select courses which suit your study level based on the results of the Self-Assessment Test.
・Students learning Japanese for the first time do not have to take the test. They must enroll in Study Level K1 courses.

Self-Study in Hiragana
If you have never studied Japanese and cannot read and write hiragana, make sure to study hiragana on your own before the first classes start. The first class of all elementary level Japanese language courses begin on the premise that all students can read and write hiragana.
