University profile Established in 1911, the University of Hong Kong is the oldest tertiary institution in Hong Kong, located near the city centre. It is consistently ranked among the best universities in Asia and the world. A vibrant, multi-cultural population of 22,300 students (12,300 undergraduates and 9,900 postgraduates) consists of more than 3,000 non-locals. The university boasts state-of-the-art facilities: libraries, computer centres, wireless internet access throughout campus, sport centres, cafeterias, a clinic, banks, etc. In addition, it offers comfortable halls of residence either on or close to campus. Comprehensive student support services including accommodation assistance, career consulting, counseling, a wide range of outreach programmes, and over 100 student clubs and societies are available to students. Language of instruction is English, except for courses offered by the Department of Chinese.

Students applying to the Law Faculty should preferably be those majoring in Law at their home institution.
Undergraduate programs NOT open to exchange students Programme and courses offered by the Faculty of Architecture, Faculty of Dentistry and Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine, most final year project courses.

Minimum GPA (UG) No specific requirements, but some of our faculties have set certain academic requirements for incoming exchange students. Details of these requirements can be found at

The Faculty of Law : TOEFL iBT 97 or IELTS 7.0 with no subtest below 6.5
