Keio University welcome 5 students from APRU Universities!

Keio University would like to welcome 5 students from the member universities to further promote student mobility among APRU universities. Please see below for more information about the program and application procedures.

The Human Systems in the Pacific Northwest Bioregion Program for Keio University students at the University of Washington (UW) has been created through collaboration between the University of Washington (UW) Program on the Environment (PoE) and International Outreach Programs (IOP) in consultation with Keio University. It is an intensive three-week course on environmentology designed to introduce students from a wide range of academic and professional interests to issues and challenges encountered in an urban area with plentiful natural resources.
 The program includes lectures, workshops, discussion, as well as a visit to the UW off-campus facilities for seminars and hands-on experiences.

APRU Slots 5 students (30 Keio University students will participate)
Eligibility Undergraduate/graduate students from APRU member universities
Framework of the Program Lecture / Workshop: 28 units
Discussion / Project work / Presentation: 6 units or more
Field work: 9 places or more
Short visits including lodgment:  Olympic Park  (Tentative)

 **The Housing and Meals Costs include all the accommodation and meal( Breakfast and Lunch)  at the UW campus except weekends, as well as the costs for the short trip.
**International airfare and travel insurance cost are not included in the above figure.

            (Applicable only to non native speakers of English.)

Notification of Acceptance

May 15 (Thu) Screening will be conducted at Keio University.

Screening result will be sent to all the applicants and the International Office of your university by May 15 (Thu).

Payment, Travel Arrangement (1)Payment

by May 31

Please pay the total program fee by May 31 (subject to change).

 You need to wire the total amount to the account specified by us. The account number will be notified to the successful candidates. Please note that you have to pay the cancellation fee if you cancel the participation after a specified date. The date will be noticed to the successful candidates.

  (2) Pledge Card You need to send the pledge card to us. The form will be sent to the successful candidates.
  (3) Air ticket Please purchase your air ticket to and from Seattle on your own.
  (4) Travel Insurance All the participants are required to take out relevant travel insurance that provides coverage throughout the program period.
  (5) Visa application (if applicable) If you are from a country required to obtain visa to enter the U.S.A., please consult the Keio Summer School Office.
 Pre-departure Study May - July We will send you the list of recommended readings.
Program Starts August  4 (Mon) You need to come and join the Keio group at the Tacoma Airport, Seattle around 9 a.m. on August 4.
