Scholarships Provided by Private Foundations / Local Governments

Attention

Every year, various scholarships are offered for privately financed international students at Keio by private organizations or companies.

Basically application information for scholarships is provided by Japanese only, since Japanese skill is required for most scholarships. For example, the ability to understand contents of lectures in Japanese or the ability to be interviewed in Japanese would be usually required. Actually there are very limited options for students with poor Japanese language skill.

Please be aware that not only school fees but also the cost of living is costly in Japan. It is not necessarily the case that you will be able to get a scholarship in accordance with your wish. You need to make a sound financial plan, without counting on scholarships.

Below we've listed some scholarships (which provided by private foundations / local governments) for 2012 fiscal year, available without Japanese language skill.

Note that the lineup of scholarships is not same every year. Also amounts and other conditions of these scholarships vary from year to year.

The newest information is available on the page Scholarships Now available.

If you wish to apply for a scholarship through Keio, as a first step, you must complete"Scholarship Initial Registration" at the beginning of each semester. Please refer to the information for that on the page How to Apply.  The following paragraphs are for reference.
